The Douglaston and Little Neck Historical Society invites you to join us at the Annual Fall
Cleanup at Glenwood Landing Park sponsored by Westmoreland Association and NYC Parks.
During the park cleanup, the DLNHS, through a grant from the Con Ed Foundation, will provide
an educational program for participating children and their parents. The DLNHS will teach
students about the importance of the local environment, about plants that are indigenous to the
area, and invasive plants of the region. Participants will have an opportunity to plant some
indigenous plants at Glenwood Landing Park and children will also receive a kit to grow their
own plant at home.
Tools and work gloves will be provided.
The Westmoreland Association will provide free pizza for park cleanup volunteers.
