2014 DLNHS Silver Anniversary Summer Soirée: La Dolce Vita! Benefit
The Douglaston and Little Neck Historical Society hosted a benefit celebrating our 25th Anniversary on June 21, 2014.
The Silver Anniversary Summer Soirée: La Dolce Vita! was a hit from beginning to end. Our sold out gala was at the beautiful home of Peter and Arlene Angelilli who absolutely define "The Hosts with the Most"! The weather was gorgeous and the pool, candles and music sparkled, as did the guests.
Our evening began with a magical performance by Mezzo-Soprano Laura Federici in the Music Room of the Angelilli home. Guests continued to mingle among the Silent Auction items and the pool area where a Bellini Bar was set up and a continuous array of hors d’oeurves were presented by Prime Catering.
Kudos to our college students who volunteered throughout the evening putting their selling skills to work for the raffles and helping out with check-in: Lisa Autz, Michelle Autz, Tom O’Byrne, Charlotte Otremba, Will Otremba, and Danielle Segal. Special thanks to our photographer Maddy French!
The spirited LIVE Auction, hosted by Lon Otremba, featured 3 fantastic donations:
A Tasting Dinner at Felidia donated by Lidia Bastianich and Tanya Manuali.
The winners were Marty and Patricia Moroney.
One Week Antigua Vacation donated by Cathy Moran.
Lucky winner is Jan Mackell.
A Legends Suite Yankees Ticket Package donated by The Fiechter Family.
Winning bid from Richard and Lucille Tinari.
DJ Kevin kicked in and the dancing started while dessert was served. Rumor has it that there were some guests in the swimming pool by the end of the evening!
Your generous contributions helped the DLNHS raise $40,000 that evening and we are still getting donations. Thank you!
Our goal: Funding a part-time Executive Director to expand the reach of the organization with the aim of garnering significant grants, continued contributions towards funding neighborhood projects and promoting educational outreach.
